ABV:5.9%
Review
Appearance: A black, dense beer – opaque with a thin, solid white to tan head. Nice lacing – not excessive.
Smell: Big roast and oat sweetness – smells heavy.
Taste: Rich and smooth – rolled oats, bakers chocolate, and mild milk sweetness, ending in a larger then expected dose of hops. It has a lingering, drying cocoa finish. A complex, rich, full flavored meal in a glass.
Mouthfeel: Creamy smooth and viscous – right on target.
Drinkability: Dangerously high – the 5.9% ABV can sneak up on you.
Notes: I have never had a bad beer in the Wolaver’s lineup. I am a big fan of roasty rich beers, and this is one of the good ones. Comes highly recommended.
