Review:

Appearance: I poured this golden orange, white topped ale into a small pilsner glass. Light shone through as it settled under its thick, firm, and fine foam head, that lasted nicely and kept up the mouthfeel all the way down.

Smell: A huge floral smell mixed with apricot, with a perfume citrus grapefruit. There was a sweetness of honey and a light malt characteristic of iced tea.

Taste: Full of fantastic apricot and grapefruit up front, with a sweet orange finish and subtle malts on the end. All of the smells play into the taste at some point; a very complex beer that has legs. Big hops, very balanced, even for 93ish IBUs. Hops are not overbearing, and surprisingly approachable with such a high number; but would try a few less hoppy beers before diving into this one.

Mouthfeel: The mouthfeel is wonderful with a smooth, almost buttery weight and a drying finish, which plays well with the candied finish.

Drinkability: This is one that goes down very fast and easy, but can sneak up on you. It has kick with 7.5% ABV, but you can enjoy more than one without a problem.

Notes: This is a beer that is well known in the craft beer world, and lives up to its name and hype 110%. It is one of my favorites, that I missed greatly when I lived in Florida last year. A great brew from a great East coast brewery.
